    Bartholin’s cysts occur when the Bartholin’s glands—located near the vaginal opening—become blocked, forming a fluid-filled lump. If infected, the cyst can become painful or turn into an abscess. In-office treatment may include drainage or a minor procedure called a Word catheter placement to allow healing and attempt to prevent recurrence.
